File Monitoring

LynX Monitor has the following requirements to monitor files (these requirements allow LynX Monitor to remain agentless):

Windows Servers
  • The account running the LynX Monitor Service must have read/write access to the folders being monitored. Write access is required only if file deletion/cleanup is configured.
Non-Windows Servers
  • FTP Service should be enabled and running on the server. FTP over SSL (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) are also supported. The FTP port is configurable. The configured FTP account must have read/write access to the folders being monitored.
Kernel Monitoring

LynX Monitor has the following requirements to monitor kernels natively (i.e. without Server Manager). These requirements do not apply to kernel monitoring through Server Manager:

Windows Servers
  • The account running the LynX Monitor Service must have read access to the JDE log folder. The log folder must be accessible through the administrative share (“$ share”) or by explicitly sharing the folder and providing access to the service account.
  • The account running the LynX Monitor Service must have access to listing processes on the server running EnterpriseOne services.
iSeries Servers
  • FTP Service should be enabled and running on the server. FTP over SSL (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) are also supported. The FTP port is configurable. The configured FTP account must have read/write access to the jde log folder.
Unix and Linux Servers
  • FTP Service should be enabled and running on the server. FTP over SSL (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) are also supported. The FTP port is configurable. The configured FTP account must have read/write access to the jde log folder.
  • The server must be accessible through SSH. Unsecure telnet is not supported.
